The Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT) is the leading international provider of coach training and web-enabled coaching resources for counsellors, psychologists, therapists and other helping professionals.
Founded in 1998 by Dr. Pat Williams, who is himself a psychologist, Master Certified Coach and author of the seminal texts, Becoming a Professional Life Coach and Therapist as Life Coach, the Institute for Life Coach Training has trained thousands of helping professionals throughout the world.
ILCT trains counsellors, therapists, psychologists, social workers, human resource professionals, educators and other professionals in the profession of life coaching.
ILCT was one of the first coach training programs to be accredited by the International Coach Federation and was recently selected by the National Board of Certified Counsellors (NBCC) and its affiliate, the Center for Credentialing and Education, to be the first approved provider of training for professionals pursuing the new, Board Certified Coach credential.
Developed primarily with master's and doctoral level helping professionals in mind, the Board Certified Coach credentialing process grants credit for graduate degrees and professional experience and enables those with a master's degree or higher in Counselling to meet the training requirements with as few as 30 hours of training. Those with a master's or higher in other social or behavioural sciences will meet the training requirements in as few as 60 hours of training.
If you are a master's or doctoral level professional who has been thinking about developing your coaching practice and building on a credential recognized by professional organizations such as the National Board of Certified Counsellors (NBCC) now is the time to act.
ILCT is represented in South Africa by Martin Combrinck, a Wellness Coach and Strategist. This is the first time that this training is available in South Africa.

Laughter Seminar & Show
Laughter for Africa, is hosting a public laughter seminar and show on the 25 May 2010 at 6 pm at Old Mill Theatre in Paarl. This is part of the 'Let's get the Nation Laughing Campaign'. The aim of this campaign is to educated people about the benefits of laughter for yourself and the community.
The seminar is to show people that you can laugh without using comedy, jokes and humour - all that is needed is a willingness to laugh. Scientific studies have shown that children up to the age of 8 years - laugh an average of about 300 times a day. This is because they laugh with their bodies and not their minds. Adults on the other hand, laugh on average only about 10 times a day, because they laugh with their minds. During this laughter seminar, we become like children again and we laugh for no reason at all.
This concept originated in 1995 with Dr Madan Kataria from Mumbai, India. Since then, this phenomenon called Laughter Yoga, has spread to more that 65 countries world-wide. This laughter seminar is presented by Martin Combrinck, international certified Laughter Professional. Part of this presentation is a laughter theatre show, by two well-known actors, Bennie Jacobs and Redione Stephens from 'Lollos' fame - http://www.laughter4africa.org.za/events.htm
